The Highwood Theatre offers a variety of workshops and classes to help students develop new skills within a professional theatre environment. Our workshops and classes are taught by professional theatre artists. Workshops can be a one-time event or ongoing series of classes.

Performances/Production Assistance:

 

The Highwood Theatre is here to help. Through our performance/production assistance program, we offer guidance for an after-school club, drama class production, etc. Whatever it may be, Highwood wants to make your student productions the best they can be. Our professional Theatre Artists adjust to the unique needs of your school. We offer help in the following areas:

 

• Improve planned production.

• Provide directors, acting and/or vocal coaches, music accompanists, movement specialists, technical masters, stage managers, etc.

• Offer performance staff to help learning experience.

• Assist school faculty by sharing production responsibilities.

 

TheatreFIT:

 

TheatreFIT is perfect for anyone of all ages looking for a fun and engaging theatre experience. TheatreFIT combines physical activity with theatre - physical improv, signing, breathing, stretching, body health, stage combat, dance, and much more. TheatreFIT classes can be scheduled at your convenience.  

 

Field Trips:

 

The Highwood Theatre hosts students for field trips to learn all about the theatre. Students will get to observe a professional non-profit theatre company and how it functions. We offer workshops, costume room tours, interactive black box theatre activities, and much more. Each student will have a great time, express their creativity, and learn something new. 

 

The day will begin with a warm-up, then students are divided into groups and will rotate through our hands-on workshops. The field trip will end with everyone together in the theatre to showcase what they've learned and created.
